- No, _you_ listen up, Brian ;^)
-
- I think it's pretty fair to state that the CD32 was a failure. C= made
- thousands upon thousands of them, and I could still ring up any mail
- order company you care to mention and pick one up for as little as
- 130UKP.
-
- Although the Walker has an improved spec, it's hardly super-console
- material. It certainly can't compete in terms of power with the PSX and
- Saturn, or even the 3DO. And before you say, "Well, call it an
- expandable console that you can turn into a computer", I cite these
- examples: CDTV; CD32; CD-i... hardly the most successful machines ever,
- I think you'll agree.
-
- No, what AT need to do is get the Walker out on the streets at a
- reasonable price (say 500UKP), reduce the A1200 in cost (to about 200UKP
- - sure, they'll be making a loss, but if current sales figures persist,
- come the Autumn they'll need to be shifting units at whatever cost), and
- push it as a cheap but powerful PC alternative. Stress the fact that
- it's PowerPC ready, and actually _market_ it with adverts and PR work.
-
- It would all be useless without software, so get a Developer Support
- program going _now!_
-
- But the Walker as a games console? Please! =D

- Dan.
